Thank you to everyone who attended our Spring Coffee Morning and also to those who bought raffle tickets and donated items for our raffle and stalls. We had a great time and raised a fabulous £507!! Thank you!!
We held our Christmas Coffee Morning last Wednesday, our first since 2019! We had Christmas carols, sung by the amazing Ashbourne Singers, Santa and lots of local artisan stalls, including On A Wick And A Prayer Candles, EstherMarie Beauty, Betty’s Sewing Box, Niki Jane Hughes and Rosedale Floral Design. Thank you to our volunteers and everyone who came by for a sing-song and a mince pie – it was lovely to see you.
❤️ THANK YOU for your support – we appreciate you more than you know. ❤️
We did it!
Six of us walked the 8-mile loop of Carsington Reservoir yesterday morning. The weather was much better than last year, it started out foggy but then cleared and we had a pleasant temperature for walking.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. We really appreciate your support. If you haven’t donated yet, please consider making a donation in the following ways:
– Online: https://donate.giveasyoulive.com/campaign/careline-fundraising-walk
– Cheque: payable to Careline and post to Careline, c/o St. Oswald’s Hospital, Clifton Road, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 1DR
Looking forward to our next event – I will keep you updated.

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of those who came to our 25th Anniversary Afternoon Tea last Thursday. We had a fabulous afternoon and it was lovely to see everyone again after two and a half years! We also raised £775, which is just amazing!
We are very sad not to be able to host our Christmas Coffee Morning this year. It would have been lovely to see you all, especially our members who attend each year. However, we have put together a little Christmas slideshow of past Christmas Coffee Mornings – we hope you enjoy it! 🎄❤️
We want to say a very heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who have supported Careline through what has been a very difficult year. We wish you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Let’s hope that 2021 will be a better year for us all. 🎄❤️
We took part in #GivingTuesday this week and what a great day it was.
Giving Tuesday is a global campaign that raises awareness and hopefully funds for charities taking part all over the world. We had great fun doing it last year, so we decided to take part again this year.
We posted throughout the day on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and had lots of likes, comments and shares – which is great to raise awareness for Careline to let people know what we do and how important our service is for people.
Our amazing community also donated to our #GivingTuesday appeal and we have raised £255 so far, which will help us continue to reach the most vulnerable and lonely people in society, especially over the Christmas period.
If you haven’t donated yet you can do so here. Every pound we raise makes a huge difference to those we support. It doesn’t matter how big or small, every pound matters.
❤️ Thank you for all your support – we appreciate it so much ❤️
Thank you to all involved in the Dovedale Dash, for their generous donation of £300 to Careline.
The Dovedale Dash which began in 1953, is a cross country race of 4 3/4 mile, run by 1200 to 1400 people of all abilities. The venue is the picturesque area around the village of Thorpe near Ashbourne and Dovedale in the south of the Derbyshire Peak District.
The course is mainly along field paths and open ground in the valleys of the river Dove and Manifold. One of the excitements is the crossing of the rivers Dove at the well known Stepping Stones.
THE NEXT DASH IS ON SUNDAY 3RD NOVEMBER 2019

Last year was a particularly difficult one financially for the charity, but because we had such fantastic help from the community we have been able to keep our telephone befriending service running and to support those needing us. But as we start 2019 we do so in a much more secure situation, having just secured 2 years of funding from the Big Lottery which will enable us to continue to develop our service and meet the growing demand! In the meantime we will continue to fund raise, to ensure that we have enough resources to keep Careline going once that funding comes to an end in 2021.
Thank you to all the staff and customers of Sainsbury’s in Ashbourne who last year supported Careline whilst we were charity bag packing at the store. All together we were able to raise a whopping £1515.78!
