Careline has been shortlisted as one of three charities to be put forward to the customer voting stage for Sainsbury’s Ashbourne Local Charity Partner for the year 2016/17,  so please can we ask you to vote for us?

Sainsbury’s want to make as big an impact as possible in their local communities. So every year they work together with their customers and colleagues to support a local cause at the heart of the local community. These are holistic partnerships that last for the whole year and include a range of support such as awareness-raising and fundraising in-store, volunteering and donations. As you can imagine this would give Careline a big financial boost in what is proving to be an extremely difficult year.

You can vote in-store or online:    www.sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk between 13th – 26th  June with the   winner selected and announced in early July. You don’t have to be local to vote for us online – simply click on the above link, type in Ashbourne, select the Ashbourne store & our charity will come up.

Thank you from all at the Careline Team!

Good news! Waitrose Ashbourne have chosen Careline as one of their Community Matters charities for the month of June. So if you  shop in the store, our collection box will be ready for lots of green tokens from this Friday, 27th May! Please let your friends and family know too, as this represents a big boost to our funds during  a very challenging year.

ego-design-10-years

A big thank you to Ego, a local design agency based in Brailsford who have chosen Careline as one of the charities for whom they will be fundraising in 2016, as they celebrate their 10th year in business! They are hoping to raise around £10,000, which will be split equally between all 10 charities at the end of the year.

One of their exciting ideas is a charity draw, which has some great prizes and entry costing as little as £1 – we couldn’t resist having a go ourselves!

Please use the following link to support Careline, along with the other worthwhile causes: http://www.prizedraw.designbyego.co.uk/

Good luck!

Are you part of a group which has members in Uttoxeter or are you part of a club or voluntary organisation who may be thinking about expanding your membership to the town? Why not come along and make some useful contacts at this free event? We’ve already had confirmation  that Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Alzheimer’s Society and the Beth Johnson Foundation are planning on attending, as well as  Jo from Careline and Michelle from  the Supportive Care Centre.

Please feel free to contact Jo for more information on 01335 210353.

easyfundraising.org.uk is an easy way for charities like Careline to raise money – so far they’ve raised over £9 million for causes throughout the UK and you don’t pay anything extra for your online purchase.

This is how it works:
• You register your details and select Careline as your chosen charity on easyfundraising.org.uk
• The next time you make an online purchase go to easyfundraising.org.uk, click on your chosen retailer (there are almost 3000 including John Lewis, Amazon, Tesco & eBay) & make your purchase.
• The website tells the retailer that you have come through easyfundraising and they give you a cash reward to turn into a donation for us. Easyfundraising collect this and send it on to us at no extra cost.

It’s quick and easy to do and every penny raised makes a difference to us!

Happy New Year to you all!
We’ve decided to start 2016 with a Christmas Clear Out Campaign. So we’d really like to have any of your unwanted Christmas gifts that could be used as a prize for a tombola or raffle. Just pop into the main reception of St Oswald’s Hospital next time you’re passing and a member of the Careline staff will come down to collect your goodies. We’re a bit limited with storage, so smaller items would be ideal – give us a call on 01335 210353 if you’re not sure what you have is suitable. You’d be amazed how much money we can raise from unwanted items – our Christmas tombola and raffle raised £1000!

A big thank you to everyone who supported the Careline Christmas Coffee Morning last Friday – you helped us to raise £1500, all of which will go towards keeping our valuable telephone befriending service going.

It was a super morning and  lovely to see so many people  – members, volunteers, the Mayor and Mayoress of Ashbourne, hospital staff, other local charities and of course the wonderful Ashbourne Singers. You all helped to make the morning a huge success. THANK YOU!
